COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
Processing Machine, Radiographic Film, Automatic, Stationary
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this
Commercial Item Description (CID) for all federal agencies.
1. SCOPE. This Commercial Item Description (CID) is for a high capacity, processor machine,
radiographic film, automatic, stationary, developing, fixing, washing and drying of all standard
brands of nondestructive testing x-ray film in an industrial environment.
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
2.1 Power Requirements. The processor shall operate in accordance with requirements of this
CID when supplied with 220 ± 10% Volts, 3-wire single phase, 50/60 Hz, 40 amp maximum
current.
2.2 Standby Mode. The processor shall have an automatic standby mode to conserve energy,
water and wear by automatically shutting down the transport, wash and dryer systems when no
film is being processed.
2.3 Display. The processor shall have a digital temperature display.
2.4 Feed Indicator. The processor shall provide an indicator to alert the operator that it is ready
for additional film.
2.5 Weight. The maximum weight shall not exceed 700 lbs (empty).
2.6 Size. The processor, including feed tray, shall not occupy more than 12 sq. feet.
2.7 Warm-up. The processor warm-up period shall not exceed 25 minutes.
